ACTIVITIES (2021 -2022)

1) Topic: “One to One Career orientation Program”

Organised by the Centre for Continuing Education Kerala in association with Government College Kottayam from 15-10-2021 to 17-10-2021

Educators: Jayakrishnan R & Kevin Savio

Faculty of Kerala State Civil Service Academy 

Participants: All students (Total duration: 3 days)

Details: An open session followed by one-to-one interaction with students focusing on UPSC and other elite Government Jobs.

23 students participated in one-to-one session.

Feedback from the students: Excellent. Top quality educators.

2) Topic: “Careers in Armed Forces” addressing different opportunities in Indian Army

Jointly organized by Career Guidance & Placement Cell and NCC of our college on 15-03-2022 

Guest speaker: Col. Maneesh Bhola, Director Army recruitment Office, Trivandrum 

Participants: Around 70 students participated

Student’s feedback: Excellent.

3) Topic: “From Kerala to Mussoorie” an Introduction to Civil Service Exam

Educators: Anandhalakshmi A.L & Rahul Raju (Former students and CSE aspirants)

Details: A highly interactive online program where students got a clear idea about CSE’s syllabus and exam pattern. 

Around 100 students participated

Feedback from the students: Excellent and many students suggested the same program.

4) Topic: “Career opportunities in your subject” conducted in all PG Departments of the College providing students an opportunity to know the major career options within their subject.

Feedback: Similar programs to be conducted each year for first years and pass out batches.

5) Topic: “How to read a Newspaper effectively for competitive exams?

Educators: Akhil K R and Ajith V S (CSE aspirants of Government College Kottayam)

Feedback: Excellent. Suggested more students centric peer learning programs

6) Topic: “How to start preparing for UPSC Exams? Educators: Sandra N (CSE aspirant of Government College Kottayam) 

Feedback: Excellent.

7) “Civil Service Aspirants Club”: A weekly student peer learning initiative focusing on competitive exams

8) “One Campus one IAS” program of the Department of Higher Education Students participated in the webinars series “Talk to the Champs” talk series by Civil Servants

9) Students participated in “Summit Events Aptitude test” Job fair and Career Guidance seminar

10) Oasis Kerala Youth Leadership program conducted online aptitude Test for B Com and BA English students

11) Regular online and offline meeting for keeping the students on track towards a successful career.

12) Government College Kottayam was the venue for “Mega Job Fair Kottayam 2022” jointly organized by Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), Kottayam District Administration and District Planning Board.
